Ramón de Hoces el Sevillano: ¿Personaje histórico en Don Quijote de la Mancha?

Abstract

In this study I focus on Ramón de Hoces el Sevillano, a secondary figure in Don Quixote. My intention is to make a review on what the critics have argued about it, and to clear up doubts on his so-called historicity. I conclude that so far De Hoces cannot be considered a historical figure with the data shown by the Cervantes scholars and researchers
