Main Article Content
Abstract
The following paper examines several examples of the representation of sociability in the Spanish press during the 18th and early 19th century, paying thereby special attention to the so-called tertulia. This research attempts to shed some light on the connections between socialization and press, inquiring at the same time - among other things - the function that the fictionalization of tertulia fulfills in contemporary press so as the meaning of sociability as a narrative pattern for the development and emergence of public opinion in Spain.
